I have midwifery in my blood. My namesake and Great Grandma Rose was a midwife in rural Minnesota. While my family is from the Midwest, I have called Northern California my home since I was seven years old.
After graduating from Flagler College in St. Augustine Florida with a BA in Political Science and Pre-law I moved back to California. In 2007 after settling into the wilds of NorCal I gave birth to my first son, Preston Utah, at Auburn Faith Hospital in Auburn, California. I found the experience amazing, challenging, and life changing. After Preston was born, I clearly saw that my path was to support and help other people bring their babies into the world.
In 2013 I enrolled at the National College of Midwifery. From 2013-2017 I had the distinct privilege of training with several midwifery practices in the Sacramento area as well as at the high volume birth center, Better Birth, in Utah. I completed my apprenticeship under the wisdom, love, and guidance of Marlene Smith, LM, CPM and Kaleem Joy, LM, CPM of One Heart Midwifery in Citrus Heights, Ca. In 2017, I graduated from the National College of Midwifery and passed the NARM exam to become a California licensed midwife.
In 2020 I finally got to experience home birth for myself and at the end of August, I gave birth to my second son, Eliott. Being in the comfort of my own home and attended to by midwives was glorious! The experience made me fall in love with being a midwife even more.
I have had the honor of attending over 300 births and look forward to serving you and your family during your pregnancy and birth journey.
When not striving to keep my clients happy and healthy, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My husband, our two sons and I love grabbing donuts at Pushkin’s Bakery on Sunday, playing at the Yuba River, walking downtown to the Nevada City farmer's market, and hiking in the mountains.
I am a proud mama to three wonderful children, ages 3, 6, and 8. My Journey into motherhood sparked a deep love for pregnancy and birth, beginning the moment I discovered I was expecting my first baby.
After experiencing the home birth of my dreams with my third baby, I felt a clear calling and took the leap into midwifery school. I believe that pregnancy and birth are among life’s most sacred and natural experiences - and that every woman deserves compassionate, respectful, and individualized care. My greatest prayer is to bring light, love, and unwavering support to every family I serve.
When I am not immersed in all things birth and pregnancy, I prioritize my own health and wellness, staying active and grounded. I find joy in gardening with my husband, soaking up the sunshine by the lake, and cherishing time with my beautiful family. I am immensely grateful to be a full time mother, wife, and student midwife.
I was blessed to be raised on a farm in Calaveras County where my love for birth began. When I could I made sure to be present for the births of all the farms animals - from puppies to goats, pigs and horses. At a young age I felt that pregnancy and birth were the most fascinating life events that existed.
When I was eighteen I got to witness the birth of my best friend’s baby. That experience catapulted me into learning everything I could about pregnancy, birth, postpartum and all the ways I could support women in their motherhood journeys. I started attending births as a doula and midwifery assistant in 2018. As of 2025 I have had the honor of attending 76 births.
When I am not attending births, doing prenatal, or studying midwifery, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also love creating works of art using wood and clay.
